Who we are...
Welcome to Cumberland Valley Cheerleading – the heartbeat of Cumberland Valley School District’s spirit and athleticism.
Our program is a beacon of pride, offering high school student athletes an opportunity to support Cumberland Valley's football, basketball, and wrestling teams through sideline cheer, as well as participate in local, state, and national cheerleading competitions through both "Traditional" and "Gameday" routines.
Supporting nearly 30 athletes each year, at Cumberland Valley Varsity Cheer, we build confidence, character, and unity through sport, celebrating our athletes' commitment to personal growth through a positive team culture.
CV Cheer is more than just a program; it’s a journey of friendships, bonding, and teamwork that begins in the school’s corridors and leads to the grand stages of cheerleading competitions across Pennsylvania and beyond.
Along the way, we instill respect, responsibility, and character, empowering our athletes to be their best.

Throughout the year, Cumberland Valley Cheerleading athletes are encouraged to be actively involved in community relations, fundraising, and mentoring the next generation, ensuring they grow as athletes and as responsible and compassionate individuals.
As the sport of cheerleading has changed immensely over the years, our program has adapted to be successful at every turn, earning district, state, and national titles.
But, beyond the medals, we are most proud of the hundreds of athletes who have gone on to lead successful, positive lives and careers, empowered by their skills, confidence, and mentorship they gained through CV Varsity Cheer.
Each year, the team's success is built on trust, teamwork, and accountability, reflecting the potential our dedicated coaches see in every athlete.
At Cumberland Valley, we don't just aim for the stars - we reach out and touch them. Our coaches' expertise and years of experience have been instrumental in guiding our teams to perform at their best.

A PIAA-recognized sport, our student-athletes at CVHS are motivated to do their best. Through every stunt, tumble, and chant, our cheerleaders show unwavering spirit. From the challenging practices that begin in May to the pinnacle of Nationals in February, our team works toward a common goal, dedicated to doing their best.

With an extensive network of specialized coaches, they bring in exceptional guest mentors who elevate our team’s choreography and stunting techniques to new heights, ensuring safety and precision in every move.

Every year our coaches meet with the team to determine common goals, discuss plans to achieve them and outline expectations. Through a collaborative, team first environment, we embark on the journey of a new season, confident that through sport these athletes will be given the tools and experiences they need to prepare for their sport and life!

Amidst the hard work, there’s a vibrant culture of joy and camaraderie. From our annual traditions to our monthly team bonding activities, the athletes bond over laughter and a shared passion. They honor each other’s milestones with birthday celebrations, dress up for the annual Halloween practice and stand together through the highs and lows. It’s a sisterhood forged in the fires of competition and solidified in the moments of pure fun.
Just like with any community, there can be trying times. As parents and supporters, we’ve witnessed extraordinary acts of empathy and care among our athletes.
They lift each other up, not just in stunts but in life, providing a shoulder to lean on and a cheer to raise spirits. This is the ethos of the CVHS Varsity Cheerleading team—a group of remarkable young women who understand that the strength of the team lies in the strength of each individual’s heart.
This goes beyond the team, too. These girls and families provide support for their fellow athletes in other cheer programs that have fallen on hard times, and even donate their own hair in support of childhood cancer as part of CV's Mini-Thon! 💖
